Edit Shipping Methods

Shipping Methods defined here will appear as a list of options on the checkout.asp page. They are also used in conjunction with the Shipping Fee Manager. To edit the list, in the Shipping Methods form,

  1. Select an existing method from the Method list (The selected one automatically goes into the New/Update box).
  2. To remove the method, simply click on the Delete button (use with extreme certainty). Note that you cannot remove a shipping method if it is associated with a shipping fee setup.
  3. Enter / Change the information in the New/Update box.
  4. Press the Update button to replace the existing method. or
  5. Press the Add New button to add a new method.

Edit Payment Methods

Payment Methods defined here will appear as a list of options on the order.asp page. Credit cart payment methods are also associated with the payment gateway To edit the list, in the Payment Methods form,

  1. Select an existing method from the Method list (The selected one automatically goes into the New/Update box).
  2. To remove the method, simply click on the Delete button (use with extreme certainty).
  3. Enter / Change the information in the New/Update box. You must follow the syntax
    [Method], [Display]. If you are using a card payment gateway, the Method part must be a valid value referred by the card processing agent. The Display part is to present a user-friendly name to the end customers.
  4. Press the Update button to replace the existing method. or
  5. Press the Add New button to add a new method.

Edit Item Types

Item types defined in the Shop Manager correspond to the "ProductType" hidden field when you set up the "Add to Cart" button on your shopping pages. The value of the ProductType field should be among the Item Types defined here. Though exact match is not required. The Item Type concept is very important throughout the entire CyberShop program. It is an essential ingredient for both shipping fees and coupons on the order.asp page.  The program allows partial match on words.

To add/remove/update the list, in the Item Types form,

  1. Select an existing type from the Type list (The selected one automatically goes into the New/Update box).
  2. To remove the type, simply click on the Delete button (use with extreme certainty). Note that you cannot remove an item type if it is associated with a shipping fee or a coupon setup.
  3. Enter / Change the information in the New/Update box. An item type can contain multiple words, separated by the Space character.
  4. Press the Update button to replace the existing type. or
  5. Press the Add New button to add a new type.

Edit Global Regions

Global Region is an upper level division to the numerous countries in the world. To effectively manage   the shipping fee, CyberShop divides the the global into regions. Typically, you can define a unified shipping fee rule within each region (but it still allows exceptions for some countries in the region). This is used in the shipping fee calculation. CyberShop is pre-loaded with US-centric regions and countries. To alter the division, in the Global Regions form,

  1. Select an existing region from the Region list (The selected one automatically goes into the New/Update box).
  2. To remove the region, simply click on the Delete button (use with extreme certainty). Note that you cannot delete a region without first removing all countries under it.
  3. Enter / Change the information in the New/Update box.
  4. Press the Update button to replace the existing region. or
  5. Press the Add New button to add a new region.

Edit Status Codes

Status Codes are extremely important in CyberShop. They are used to associate with shopping orders at different stages of the order process. Customers can use the Online Order Status Check (view_status.asp) to check the status. Different email messages can be defined with different status codes when you send email update to the customers. To alter the codes or their descriptions, in the Status Codes form,

  1. Select an existing status code from the Status list (The selected one automatically goes into the New/Update box).
  2. To remove the status code, simply click on the Delete button (use with extreme certainty). Note that you cannot delete a status code if there are shopping orders associated with it.
  3. Enter / Change the information in the New/Update box.
  4. Press the Update button to replace the existing status code. or
  5. Press the Add New button to add a new code.
